it was supposed to be tsukiji fish market in the morning. but the night before i don't know why but i slept at 4 am. that when i found out those animes are screened late at nite. i think i watched overdrive, and zombie loan.
so i skipped tsukiji( i skipped the hamburg fish market when i was in hamburg too, sigh). i think me and fish market got no affinity for each other. i can never bring myself to wake up like 5 am in the morning to go see dead fishes that i don't really fancy eating. bah humbugs.
okok so i took the subway from inaricho to asakusa. end of the ginza line. it was raining. there were lotsa ppl and tourist even though it was only around 10 am in the morning. well... temples... what can i say.. seen them. not really interested. but just to see what was there so i went.
walked through nakamise while sampling some of the stuffs they sell. it's like a very clean version of petaling street. they sell so many kinds of omiyage. (gifts). i bought some mame daifuku(shown in photo). VERY NICE!! i haven't eaten red bean paste buns in years !! and these was freshly fried or something. bought 2 to try out at 80 yen each. then i went back to get sommore. i didnt have breakfast. lol.
then i went to see some yukata for sleeping. bought one for about 1800 yen. after that, got someone to take a photo for me. well.. i couldn't find other tourist or was just plain lazy to get them to take photos for me.
then from the temple,
i walked towards a small alley which later i found out to be fuku-chan. or something.. that was the name for the place the old man told me. i saw a shop which had nobody but it looked small and authentic, there was a lady taking care of the store and old man smoking inside. so i went in. asked them for unagidon. 800yen. was very nice albeit a little too sweet and salty.
then i walked around asakusa for a bit then accidentally bumped into a man in a suit. (no. he wasn't wearing any double breasted white colour suit with sunglasses. :p)
he looked quite angry when i bumped into him and then i said sumimasen, then i think he still looked angry then i said gomennasai. lol. i doubt i would actually do that here. or back home.
now i know why all women and children are so submissive. they are afraid of the men.???!!??
geezz....
saw a 99p shop around there went in walked around. they have so many nice stuffs. i was thinking i should not buy anything yet because i would have to lug the damn big pack around when i go to hakone, kyoto and then back to tokyo. which was my mistake. cos on the last day i wouldn't have time to go back to all these places to get the stuffs i actually wanted to buy.
then i took the train from asakusa on the ginza line to ginza.
history of ginza ? don't know. lol. just wanted to go see a place that they say is different from all of tokyo. well it is different. everything was like boutiques. old ladies with make up so thick so that they could look young. or age gracefully.
saw the sony building. not very big but a lot of floors, as well as the apple store which is sorta like the apple store we have in regent street. ?? but the girl greeter at the door had a nice figure lol.
then i walked to bic camera near tokyo station. bought my lowepro side something bag (a huge waistpouch to store the camera. the daypack was killing my shoulders). then bought some camera protector and card reader for the SDHC card.
then went back to the hotel. then showered and got ready for dinner. the weather was HUMID. the deodorant i got from chanel didn't do its job properly. next time i'll just bring the EDT instead. sien.
was trying to find mos burger around the hotel area to eat the rice burger but i took one wrong turn or something i ended up in a place called nihon kai. or something like that. went in saw the table was like those in any shops which was suitable for a single person eating. somehow i didnt know how to order and ended up with some katsuo raw fish. sashimi. added some shoyu. ate it and found it not too bad. didn't taste like raw fish.
then 2 old man came in and sat beside me. talked a little bit and said my japanese was quite good. i bet japanese say that to everybody who can speak a little japanese. (i saw an ang moh speak japanese very fluently on my last day in tokyo. i was so jealous. lol)
anyways, had some other sushi and pretended i was full because EVERY SINGLE THING on the menu was either raw or cooked in some way i wouldn't understand. sigh.
on my way back i saw a yakitori stand. bought one hina niku. no ideas what was it, and ate there. it was delicious. then again. it was meat. after being barbequed on the stand for a bit and dipped in dunno what sort of sauce. if it wasn't for the raw fish i would have eaten more.
popped by some supermarket called akafukado. bought a few things. for dessert.
then went back to the hotel and rest. that's end of day 4.
