what is your name ?

was the question the visa officer from the japanese embassy asked when i got a call from them. ( i didnt managed to pick up the phone because i don't usually hear my phone)
or rather it seldom rings.
anyways, i got a call from them this afternoon and they asked me to return call asap. so which i did.
in the first time i rang, it rang and rang. and then the lady answered. and she started off in japanese which i have no clue on what she just said.. i was in shock.
anyways, then i just realized when she spoke in english that she had that soft tinge that usually all mandarin/japanese speaking girls have. not the high pitched shrill thingy but just the sorta of the gentle ones.
*sigh* ..
okays.. this is proof i don't get many phonecalls. or in fact... i havent heard girl's voice over the telephone in eons. not even a guy's voice.
hmm oh yah.. i did call the o2 service centre for changing my contract to a pay as you go. they wouldn't offer me a £10 off each month anymore because i haven't paid anything for the past year.
right.. back to the phonecalls, i'm partial to sounds. i think.. i'm more of a hearing person rather than a visually connected person. but then when i work i have to see the outcome before i understand what is needed. ( if they explain, i think i would have been lost even before they started)
couldn't get through the visa section.
called the second time about 10 mins later.
then this time another girl also with about the similar voice quality. she was asking because when i filled in the form, it was english name, chinese given name. and surname of course la.
but then she mentioned it was different in all forms. ( passport, work permit, and visa app form.)
sigh.. she tried pronouncing name name.. and then because i have a very special chinese name.. written in alphabets.. it's not for the faint hearted.
so she said.. ur name is **** **** **** something ?? she actually said literally "something".. because she couldn't pronounce it.. BWAHAHAHHAHAHAHA
anyways, then i explained to her it was english given name, and chinese given name. and then my surname.
so it's kinda weird for naming purposes. so .. i'll just leave it as that.
below are some photos from the japanex

living on a budget

£4 per weekday and £10 for groceries for the week. that's it's gonna be till sept. hopefully.. until i start to try shopping again .. -_- so far for the last few days has been okays. spent like £8 for groceries for this week. some beef, some chicken wings( which i completely finished during the weekend) which included half a kg of fruit and nut cadbury. today was 2 for £2 sausage rolls from tescos. nothing else happened. my friend's father died of lung cancer. i wish them condolences. it was so sudden apparently. but i have had no contact with them since i left KL/miri. i heard it from another friend who was in miri who msged me asking me about my blood pressure as he said he was scared now. i asked. scared of dying ? lol. anyways, it's best to be preventing than trying to cure it when it comes.. so i really have to switch back to no salt diet.. T_T kk that's it. season 6 of 24 was like erm... okays... it was basically a repeat of the plots.. hope that's the la...

today will be a bit earlier as i hvae something to say

. last nite went back. threw the rubbish outside the flat. i think the collectors come at about 8pm-ish. and was trying to think of what to cook. i contemplated against making fish fingers with salad. but it turned out my fridge died again.. i dun understand it.. it just turns off. grumbles. and then my salad went bad. so there's no salad to be eaten. and then i thought wth, lets cook spaghetti, then i washed the pot. and then suddenly realized that it was awfully quiet, and the water was running cold. GAH!! the heater was not working. and that would mean we ran out of gas. and the feller who tops up the gas ( we use a gas card) not in. so cannot cook anything. then i was thinking should i go out and buy food. then i remembered that i havent had rice in AGES. so out came the steamer. and + 4 eggs + canned tuna + half a can of corn. steamed rice + steamed eggs + the rest of them. finished it off. phew.. i wouldnt hvae cooked rice if there was gas. bah i guess it worked out all good...
