and sooo i sent in an application to try for a job opening in japan.
i applied about a month back.. just for the fun of it. cos my friend sent me a link from jobstreet about working in japan.
asiancommission.com or something like that.
right now i'm apparently one of the 5 in consideration out of 24 applicants. not that i will get it. but i need some input.
granted. moving jobs is fun or something.. moving from one country to another .. that's NOT fun.. ( well to me it is.. just that there are responsibilities)
lotsa them.
T_T.
well in event if i do get it.. should i try and go for it. or just stay put and earn my keep here.
pros and cons
now it's time to do a little soul searching.
i'm jumping the gun here.. it's just IF i do get it.. then this is the point where my bridges will be crossed.
but it never hurt anyone to plan the bridge crossing a little early.
pros of working in japan via my opinion for a person who's never been there.
1. TOTAL IMMERSION in the language.
2. lotsa japanese stuffs - i'm not really a japanophile.. i just like japanese anime and manga. (this is probably due to the fact that i like the language) mandarin is nice too but .. .. i know a little mandarin.. T_T.. lol
3. japanese food. ( closer to home. - here it's just lotsa sandwiches/panini/potatoes, but there lotsa rice !!!)
4. gadgets !!
Cons
1. not sure of the place
2. not sure of the people.
3. expensive to send money home( mom is worrying about this. lol. just when she was getting comfortable) well basically maybe not maybe yes.. don't know.
4. i'm too old to move around <-- LOL !! this one needs to be reconfirmed...
5. moving again. stuffs has to be signed alot of paperwork. etc etc...
keeping here in the UK.
pros
1. established. stable.
2. just getting comfortable.
3. a few more years then i hopefully will be able to land on the pr. else just go back and do farming.
4. money.
5. i like the weather here. except for summer. lol
6. i'm still learning new stuffs. the company i'm with gives me lotsa work but at the same time it's very interesting.
7. i don't have to learn a new language.
8. i'm afraid of change..( i'm always afraid of change. they make me work harder than i need to.)
cons.
1. i seldom hang out with friends.(not that it's gonna be any different if i work in jpn)
2. housing is expensive. still need at least another 12-18 months before i can actually consider looking for a place of my own.
3. can't think of anymore.
basically following newton's first law or something like that. a body at rest tends to stay at rest, and a body in motion tends to stay in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force.
right now there's no force that's making me unbalanced. so right now.. i'm at rest.
okies.. there i go.. the pros of staying in the UK outweighs the pros of working in jpn
*phew* wipes sweat off brow.
**the above entry is only a assumption that i will get the job. so in order for me not o get it.. i'll have to withdraw my application.
*** application withdrawn. - best to give those with a REAL desire to get that job a chance. T_T.. somehow it seems like a waste. but nonetheless until i've almost cleared my responsibilities back home in msia. then i'm stuck. bah humbugs !!

but i know what you mean, change is a scary thing. moving to new environment and adapting, where the language has to be mastered.
oh well.
old huh? waHahAHahaHAHAHaha
Tell me about moving house. Barely 2 months, highly likely I'm moving again. So not fun.
twisty: how nice :P should come by more often.
