muahahahah !! booked !!!

LHR - NRT RTN. damn.. i wanted to fly with virgin .. last min the website changed it to no more cheap seats.. niameh..
i checked and checked everyday from last month for those dates i wanted.
first it was £570.50. then went up to £620. then back to £593.50. then today when i finally sort of decided on the cheapest hotel options for the trip and wanted to check the flights b4 i book the hotels... "^$£%!" that stupid fare no more..
virgin had the best time for the trip. 1300 hrs lon arrive nrt at 0900. just nice for the start of the day. sigh..
i panicked.. as usual.. i don't like changes... especially when i'm really eager to do something.. (which also turns me into a gaga if i found one girl i like) so i went searching for the cheapest flight and best alternative online.
i thought it was just a mistake. virgin must have played a trick on me so that i'd buy the more expensive fare which was £894. arghh... anyways, i started searching

in no particular order i searched from
i. thomascook.com ( not really cheap. cheapest was JAL for £636 - where i could get 3% for using an affiliate program. which amounts to £18 which was KIV)
ii. flight.co.uk ( nothing really fantastic. BA had flights for £663. i didnt really like BA after i flew with BA to aberdeen. no offense. but not my cuppa tea.)
iii. cathay pacific i tried.. but that was horrible. £915 plus a stopover in Hong kong. don't want to do a stopover + the price wasn't at all that attractive.
iv. then i tried looking at baa.com to find out which airlines flew ex-LHR to NRT. only 5 airlines. which was ( aeroflot - russian airline with no online booking facility, virgin - which didnt have the fare i wanted anymore. ANA - fare was too expensive. i checked. about same as virgin's premium fare., BA - need i say more ? last was JAL - which looked promising.but still a tad high at £615. )
v. ebookers.com - checked that. gave me JAL was cheapest at £606 but they charged like 1.5% on credit card transactions and they didnt accepted solo. and my debit card had not enough money lol )
-_-
vi. i thought of going to japantravelcentre in piccadilly tomorrow but then again.. i really am too lazy to go so i searched again tried expedia uk. wow. turned out they had a nice fare for the same flight. at about the same price of the virgin flight but a later flight. which was at 1900 hrs and arriving at 1445. and because most of the hotels in tokyo check in time was like at 3 pm or 4 pm.. i thought to myself yeah this one looks alright.

and out came my credit card. checked and rechecked for best fares again. and then thought about credit card here i can pay like 56 days later. hmm... sounds good. and waht's more expedia don't charge for credit cards.. yay !

finally.. it's booked. (the flight that is) for £595.50. about 2 pounds more than virgin's but i guess it's alright considering it's JAL. and apparently ebookers had a do have a list of legroom provided by airlines in the coach section. link here. seems that JAL had longest legroom at 34". where virgin had 30". and i'm not very short.
that's it. i had to find excuses for myself for not booking the virgin's flight :D

ya.. that's the reason for the post at this time of the night. i spent the whole day in front of my computer searching for information on hotels, places to see, shoppings stuffs etc. etc...

finally it's booked. my second step to japan. lol
anyways, now to have to make sure i can get the visa done and the hotels booked.

living on a budget

£4 per weekday and £10 for groceries for the week. that's it's gonna be till sept. hopefully.. until i start to try shopping again .. -_- so far for the last few days has been okays. spent like £8 for groceries for this week. some beef, some chicken wings( which i completely finished during the weekend) which included half a kg of fruit and nut cadbury. today was 2 for £2 sausage rolls from tescos. nothing else happened. my friend's father died of lung cancer. i wish them condolences. it was so sudden apparently. but i have had no contact with them since i left KL/miri. i heard it from another friend who was in miri who msged me asking me about my blood pressure as he said he was scared now. i asked. scared of dying ? lol. anyways, it's best to be preventing than trying to cure it when it comes.. so i really have to switch back to no salt diet.. T_T kk that's it. season 6 of 24 was like erm... okays... it was basically a repeat of the plots.. hope that's the la...

Ultimate Burger. ( sorry no pics)

Tried something new for lunch the other day. namely ultimate burger. . it's a tad pricey when compared to the burgers i had in macdonalds or burger king. :P £7 per medium sized burger. i had just the minted lamb burger(£6.95), and some spicy onion rings.(£1.95) in the ultimate burger store in tottenham court road. it was not too bad. a pretty nice setting too. all u have to do is queue up order ur food, then get a number then u put it on the table. they have sort of a hanger for u to put ur numbers to. just like in those kind of chinese open air market in petaling jaya give u number then they come look for u.. but this one they come to look for u with ur food almost about 2 mins after u've sat down and they would ask u if u liked ur food. gripes about the food. lamb burger seems small.. but its' about the size of a chargrilled flame burger in burgerking. taste wise, very tender lamb meat with mint sauce. it's nice. :P the onion rings are a different matter though . for ...
