Bulldog - DSL 8mb fatband + phone line

okies. Finally managed to get my butt down to say someting about bulldog's dsl services. okies. i applied about 3 weeks ago or something like that cos i was stopped by this guy in front of safeway who had a booth there. told me about having a 8mb broadband + phone line without paying any £ for the first month and then 17.50£ for the 2-6 months then after the 6th month it's 29.50. + it's free modem and wifi router.
here's the chronological order.
1. got stopped. listened to him. signed up. he said he could make it about 7 days. but maximum 14 days. true enough. it took 14 days.
2. got the email from bulldog saying our order is in the system. that nite itself.
3. after a 1 week of waiting. got an email saying that a BT engineer is coming to fix the new line. but because my flat's intercom wasnt working. did a few back and forth emails about asking the bt engineer to confirm that he would call my number. bulldog's reps didnt tell us that bt would call the number that was included with the order. they (bulldog) replied sorry we can't confirm that the BT guys are gonna call. (£"$!%$£^%$£&£&$) but lucky i saw a bt engineer downstairs and i asked him and he told me about bt engineers calling the number on the order.
4. few days after that, got an email saying my router + modem is in the post. i thought it was a separate modem and router. but it turned out that it was an all in one actiontec modem + wifi gateway. (54mb) it was tracked by parcelforce - similiar to our poslaju but i think this one is much better. hehe.
5. wasnt home when they sent that parcel. so went the next day to get it.
6. then on friday last i think, the bt engineer came. i was kind enough to give him a drink. he took it. i thought he was pretty nice. but then he took one pen from me. cos he said he didnt have any pen. me of course a.. pen only what.. give him lor. what to do. i wanted to ask it from it. but he beat me to it. the pen. he said. can i keep it. since he asked so nicely. ok lor.
7. waited for 2 hours b4 the line was activated. tested it out. max speed i got was 400k/s. intermittent disconnection cos i think the torrents got throttled.
8. after a few days, it stabilzed. i tried it last nite. max speed was 851k/s. i will post a picture when i get home tonite or something.
9. muahahaha.. happy as a cow being tipped over. (not that i know if cows are happy being tipped over :P )
10. couple the 8mb fatband with a storage space of 120 gb + 38gb. yum yum.
well, to sum it all up. i'm quite satisfied with it. except for the fact that the customer services take like ages to pick up the fone.
all's well, ends well.

Not bad. To me 8Mb is too much.

My aunt just got UKOnline 1Mb while my flatmates are getting BT business broadband (one of them has an office in the flat).

Btw, Parcelforce rocks. No comparison with Malaysia's Poslaju.
hehehe usually if it's just for normal surfing, 1 mb should be more than sufficient enough. but not for me. it's power points. :P hehe i was using a 1mb telewest line b4 i had this. same price. so it's good.

Mr. Kipling's Battenberg Cake. looks nice..

hmmm been so busy on friday forgot to update. will post 2 post to console myself today. to the cake. cake looks cute. but tastes horrible. maybe it was because i bought it cheap from sainsbury . it's original price was £1.29. but i bought it for 49p. cheap as i was. maybe that's the reason the cake tasted bad.. but the expiry wasnt till anohter 2 days time. :P anyways, it tasted like smelled like cough syrup. u know those red coloured ones. tasted okays. the outer layer is just icing erm or rather sugar.. no ideas waht that was but it was SWEET. then inside, just like the normal sponge cake. all in all.. i wouldnt buy it ever again. :P here are the pics.

my boring weekend

i went to camden on sat and almost got rammed by a stupid green car on the way back. anyways, i was bored. and it was a nice day. don't know anything bout tour de france, or wimbledon. took my bike out. and cycled down towards camden. it was a change from cycling to work. i spent £7 in sainsburys cos they were having a half price sale on john west's tuna in cans. the usual price is about £3.19. bought some stuffs.. ( coulnd't buy a lot cos i don't wanna ride home on a punctured bike) but i bought too many as well. i bought jaffa biscuit for 69p. for 24 pieces. finished it b4 sat was over. took some photos on the way. went into o2 to see if i could get any nice phones for free. turned out that i couldn't because i havent paid any phone bills since last year. looks like i'm gonna hvae to switch my sim card to a pay as you go thingy. then i went to the outdoor emporium to take a look at the karrimor travelpack. i dunno why .. that one seems to call out to me other
