A short history of my reading of books

I read 3 books on sat and sunday. some say i don't really read these books that i say i read because i read so fast that i can't possibly grasp the entire story.
and some say stories are best read slowly and digested slowly.
I've always been a person who rushes through most of the things i do. sometimes i take time and do the stuffs slowly sometimes quickly.
kk. right now from saturday onwards, i'm gonna keep count on how many books i can read till i exhaust the feeling that i wanna read books.
i started reading when i was 8 years old. i mean REALLY into reading.
i spent one year living with my aunt back in sibu and while all my older cousins were studying and doing their own things, i sat down in front of the TV and watched the friday's cartoon. about a whale with special powers.
( this was usually met by my uncle with dark looks because i watch too much telly.)
i read the whole childcraft encyclopedia. ( it wasn't hard because it was done in such a way that a kid can read and understand it easily) thus the seed of reading was planted.
because i was told not to touch the tv too much then i found myself something else to do.
came 9 years old i was introduced to game books (by a very old friend now not lost contact with him. )where u played the game on the book with dices. ( something to do with bad influences on kids, my mom stopped me from reading those books)
then came enid blyton. the famous five, secret seven, mallory towers, and the other one was st clare's i think. the magic faraway tree was one i remembered. and the adventures that started with rivers of adventure or something like that.
all those time i read as my friend had a wide collection of books i visited his place and borrowed his books.
i would read and read and read.thus i think i read almost all of enid blyton's books. i grew up on them. then i found that as i grew older, the books i read weren't long enough to keep my attention so i turned to other books.
like ian fleming's james bond. i was 11 or 12 at that time. it was hard to understand those books but i read them because the words were small and i can immerse myself so i can forget about the outside world.
then i can't remember what i read from 12 - 13 as lemme see..
the libraries i've been to were Kota Kinabalu, labuan, Miri.
at 16 i read when i had the time. i read when teachers were teaching in class. i hid my book under my desk and read.
at 18 when i started reading i wouldn't stop till i finished the book. i read till 4 am in the morning and got to class like a real sleepyhead.
up till when i was 19 i was still reading. then came college, i read sommore which started me on the fantasy books the wheel of time.
then when i was 20++ i stopped reading a lot. my attention turned towards other things. computers. going out. etc etc.
and i didnt have any access to libraries because they were far away. or either that. really crappy.
the college library had like tons of reference books which i don't really like to read. lol
then from then on.. i read only when i found some nice books. but i found out then my concentration on books weren't there anymore.
there was just too many things to do other than just reading books. i think it was anime or somewhat. LOL
okok enough with the history.
then yesterday i paid a visit to the john barnes library in islington. about few mins cycle from where i live.
it was small. but WOW .. . it had MANGA, fantasy books, travelling books, fictional books, audio books, etc etc..
( right i've been to the brent council's library before when i was living in willesden green - that one was quite big. but i never thought to myself to go borrow books to read.)
but then even though small the library was not as warm as i thought it would be. its skylight allows the light to pass through freely and it was quite comfortable reading there.
but because i wanted to go home and cook and then sleep on my bed and read so i borrowed 4 books. ( next time max amount of books was 10 books for a period of 3 weeks.)
first timers can only borrow 4 books. then everthing else later 10 books. and bla bla bla.
it seems that i can return the books in any islington libraries.
anyways, i took 4 books, 1 which was robert jordan's wheel of time book 11 i think. ( not sure i read it already or not but it seems that i haven't)
3 other books were the black magician's trilogy by trudy canavan or something like that.
well finished those 3 books in like 16 hours ++ or something.. didnt keep count.
to me books are nice. i have a vivid imagination when i read books. instead of just reading the words, they come alive in my mind. they become images, and people ( though i could never put faces to those ppl even though it's been described to thoroughly)
the places. it's just like watching a movie. so that's why i read. they become movies to me. it's like total immersion. yes. in the world where the author creates the fictional world and characters, i put to virtual movie in my head what the author wrote.
yes i like books. very much. interesting ones. i like rags to riches stories. ( not those lovey dovey types but real nice ones) i can't stand those sappy stories by M & B where they end every books almost in a man & woman embrace in a bed or soemthing lol.
so many books i've read but i can't seem to remember them all.
mario puzo's godfather, ludlum's bourne, forsythe's day of the jackal, clancy's jack ryan, stephen king's ultimate horror/thriller books, dean koontz engrossing thrillers,
robert jordan's rand al'thor, david eddings's humorous fantasy books, piers anthony's land of xanth, man.. i've read so many books ( i think)
there's more.. maybe from now i'll start a record of all the books i've read. then i'll know exactly how many i've read.
thanks to the islington libraries, i now have a very wide selection of movies i can play in my head. :D

got my japanese visa.

1 year multiple entries. each entry 90 days. nice ! anyways, i think i did mention that japanese efficiency was also seen in the embassy ???!!?? alright, please scratch that. the time i went was early in the morning and i was one of the first person there so service was fast. i found the service to be comparable to other embassies where they are not really that quick.. well.. can't blame them just that it was my bad luck that my visa wasn't printed. 1. i went in the morning at 10 at stated on the paper. 2. she tried to find it.. couldn't find my passport. and then she said it's not ready yet.. please come back in the afternoon. T_T. (i shouldn't have woken up so early) 3. i went back to the embassy after lunch. took warren st to green park. it was stated severe delays but when i went on it.. it was quite quick. 4. i was the second in line to collect visa. not ready.. T_T.... he said.. 5 mins.. they are gonna print it now... 5. i waited.... 5 mins.... 10 mins.... 15 ...

my boring weekend

i went to camden on sat and almost got rammed by a stupid green car on the way back. anyways, i was bored. and it was a nice day. don't know anything bout tour de france, or wimbledon. took my bike out. and cycled down towards camden. it was a change from cycling to work. i spent £7 in sainsburys cos they were having a half price sale on john west's tuna in cans. the usual price is about £3.19. bought some stuffs.. ( coulnd't buy a lot cos i don't wanna ride home on a punctured bike) but i bought too many as well. i bought jaffa biscuit for 69p. for 24 pieces. finished it b4 sat was over. took some photos on the way. went into o2 to see if i could get any nice phones for free. turned out that i couldn't because i havent paid any phone bills since last year. looks like i'm gonna hvae to switch my sim card to a pay as you go thingy. then i went to the outdoor emporium to take a look at the karrimor travelpack. i dunno why .. that one seems to call out to me other...

rain rain rain ...

i went to thomas global exchange on sunday. there was a long queue just to change money. so indeed my recommendation of the place was correct. it was in a quiet place. but it looked alright. there were lotsa ppl. and ppl who were walking past were very intrigue by this long line in front of a money changer. that's about it. i still need to change a little bit more. so i'll wait for my next round b4 i go there again. it was pissing rain outside. i thought i'd have to wait till it settled down. but as it is with london's rain, it just is not like the torrential downpour back in msia. lighting and thunder. yippee.. i used to hide whenever i hear thunder and see the lightning. and then i grew out of being scared of it. now i'm scared of a different kind of thing. that aside, nothing else is special. i brought food to work today. from the baguette i bought from somerfield on sunday. it was 62p for 4 wholemeal ones. i stuffed it with corned beef i bought from sainsbury. a...
